Malden, MA (September 27, 2017)  Today’s Collision Repair Center recently participated in the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides™ program, in which they received a salvage vehicle donated from MetLife Insurance, refurbished it, and presented the finished 2014 Nissan Sentra to Massachusetts Fallen Heroes’ Gold Star Daughter, Kaleigh Hayes.

Kaleigh was just 7 years old in 2003 when her father, Army Sgt. Glenn R. Allison, died in Iraq.  She is currently attending college, teaches at the Boys and Girls Club, works in a mentoring program and is a YMCA visitation supervisor.  Kaleigh gives back to the community and thinks of her father every day. “He inspired me to push forward, pay it forward, and make an impact on those around me,” Kaleigh told attendees and the press at the Gifting Event at Today’s Collision in Malden, MA.

Bobby Cobb, Owner, Today’s Collision commented, “Kaleigh didn’t have a car, and found it tough to get around.  MetLife donated a great vehicle.  We refurbished the exterior, brakes, gave it some new tires and performed some general maintenance.  I am thankful to have a crew of employees who enjoy making a difference and giving back.  For me, personally, these Recycled Rides™ events keep me grounded knowing that we can use our knowledge and skills to make a small change in someone’s life; like Kaleigh, who has given so much to our country and community.”

National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides™ program and 1-800 Charity Cars helped facilitate the difficult paperwork process associated with transferring the vehicle from the MetLife, to Today’s Collision, to getting Kaleigh on the road.  Today’s Collision also recognizes their associates at Enterprise for donating a $250 gas card to Kaleigh.

This is the fourth collaboration between Mass Fallen Heroes and Today’s Collision for this type of restored-vehicle donation.

After Kaleigh was given the keys, she received a police escort from the City of Malden police department as she drove away in her new car.  Today’s Collision will help Kaleigh keep her new car on the road for as long as she owns it.

Saturday, January 18, 2014: Today’s Collision team members from Chelsea, Malden, our newly opened Service Center in Malden and our Enterprise Associates left their friendships behind as they hit the Track 2 indoor course at F1 Boston Kart Racing in Braintree, MA.

We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our 25th Anniversary Year than to have an Employee Kart Racing Event.  Close to 40 drivers hit this 240 meter (787 feet) in length course, consisting of rolling curves and 4 hairpin turns.  The team attended a safety briefing with course instructions and suited up in driving gear and helmets.  We had a few penalties and one kart needing minor repairs.  (There were plenty of us on hand for that!)

After preliminary heats, and one consolation round, Kyle Bryant emerged as our 1st Place winner, Zach Sullivan, our 2nd Place winner, and Fredy-Cadavid-Vargas our 3rd Place winner.  Kyle’s average speed on his winning race was 42.87 MPH.  Congratulations Kyle!  After the exhausting 20-lap final race, we enjoyed a catered event in the Track 2 lounge.  Check out our event photos and race results.

Today’s Collision is a proud sponsor of the Annual Journey Forward “Making Steps Walk.” This weekend, the non-profit’s founder, Dan Cummings, set up a 1/10 mile track at their location in Canton, MA.   Journey Forward clients, who have suffered a spinal cord injury, set out on this track to walk to raise money for the center.   The courage and determination the participants showed as they powered to take each step was remarkable.   Congratulations to all the walkers, and to Danny for continuing to build such a great Organization!  To learn more about Journey Forward, please visit their website:  http://www.journey-forward.org

Today’s Collision sponsored The Greg Hill Foundation 2013 Boston Harbor Boat Cruise, which was held on September 28th.  Attendees enjoyed a spectacular, sunny, 70 degree day cruising around the harbor with stunning Boston Skyline views.   We had a blast listening to tunes from the crowd-favorite Brian Richard Trio, and catching up with all of our friends at The Greg Hill Foundation.  What a great way to spend one of the last “summerlike” days of the year!  Thanks to all of the Today’s Collision Team Members who came out to support such a great charity!  View our photos.

The 2013 Milan Lucic Rock and Jock Softball game was held in Lowell, MA on September 5th.  The annual charity event drew a great fan turnout, and had an incredible showing by the Boston Bruins: Milan Lucic, David Krejci, Dennis Seidenberg, Brad Marchand, Chris Kelly, Torey Krug, Johnny Boychuck, Loui Ericksson, Dougie Hamilton, Gregory Campbell, Dan Paille, Matt Bartkowski, Shawn Thornton and Ray Bourque were all in attendance!  These “Jocks” took on the “Rocks” (a team of local radio and TV personalities, comedians and “rockers”).  Today’s Collision had the privilege of sponsoring the VIP cookout before the game and meeting some of the players.  Funds raised from this event are donated to the Celebrities for Charity Foundation.  Check out our photos.

We had a great time during our 2013 Family Day at Canobie Lake Park on Saturday, August 10th . The weather was a perfect 10 with blue skies; hot enough to get drenched by the Boston Tea Party Ride; but not too hot to wait for our turns on the new Equinox Ride!  After our BBQ Lunch, Roger Anderson and Luis Morales  were the lucky ones to walk away with a new Ipod Touch in our raffle.

Congratulations to our 5-year Award Winners: Kenny Fowler, Joe Lester & Tim Cranfill; to our 10-year Award Winners: Jimmy Iannuzzi & Adam Landry; And our first-time ever 15-year Award Winner: Rene BarahonaWith these awards, over 40 percent of Today’s Collision’s  employees have been with us for 5 years or more!  Thank you all for your dedication to Today’s over the years.  Check out our photos!

Mini of Peabody held its annual Poker Rally on Sunday, May 19, 2013.  54 Cars ran a route with Checkpoints at Singing Beach, Manchester; Wingaersheek Beach, Gloucester;  Clammer’s Beach, Essex; Atwater Ave, Manchester and at Mini of Peabody, Route… 114.

It’s always fun to check out how each Mini Owner customizes their vehicle.  One of our favorites was the eyelash headlights!

At each checkpoint along the route, drivers collected a card to make their poker hand. The winning hand was a Full House! Congratulations to the winners of our Trader Joe’s Snack Attack! Thanks for having us!
