On Friday, January 18th, Jack Trottier of Tyngsborough, MA suffered a serious snowboarding injury when he fell and landed on his head. Jack suffered a broken vertebra in his neck which caused trauma to his spinal cord leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Jack has movement in his shoulders and biceps and he can talk but he has no movement or feeling in his hands and below his chest. He is currently recovering at Boston Children’s Hospital and they will be sending him to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA.

The Greg Hill Foundation will be holding an on-air fundraiser for Jack on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 during the Hill-Man Morning Show on WAAF. The Foundation will match the donations up to $5,000. Bill Trottier, Jack’s father will be calling into the show at 7:30 AM so please tune in and donate.  Donations can be made through The Greg Hill Foundation Website.

The Kids of the 80’s Party

8:00pm – November 10, 2012 at Marina Bay’s Water Club, 319 Victory Rd. Quincy, MA 02171

This event will be a fundraiser for the Flaherty Family. All attendees are encouraged to donate $10.

Promoting this event is The Greg Hill Foundation, “Since 2008 fans of the 1980’s have thrown a reunion called “The Kids of the 80’s”; the idea for the reunion was forged from one person’s wonderful memories of childhood to a group of 40somethings and their simple wish to revel in those old memories and create new ones with the folks that appreciate the awesome 80’s… plus where else can you request Kajagoogoo’s “Too Shy” and not look like a complete weirdo?!?

Each year, as Fall is in full swing, a group of about 250 “kids of the 80’s” get together in Quincy at Marina Bay’s “Water Club” to reunite with old friends, meet new ones and of course “party like it’s 1999”. This November 10th at 8pm will be no different, however this year’s event comes with heavy hearts because one of our generations own, Bobby Flaherty, passed away to cancer at the young age of 40, Bobby battled for 3 years and finally succumbed to the disease in early October. Bobby was a veteran, a huge BOSTON sports fan, a “caring and super awesome” husband to his wonderful wife, Maribel and doting father to his four children, PJ, Dylan and his youngest two, Isabella whose 6 and Bobby jr. who just turned 2.

We’re not asking much, but for those familiar with the Greg Hill Foundation, we know that together we can make a difference, together we too can become “super awesome”! In addition to the dollars donated, The Greg Hill Foundation will also be matching the contributions, dollar for dollar and 100% of the proceeds will be going to Bobby’s children. Please join our team in helping make a difference for his survivors, as well, we humbly ask to share this link so we can remember one of our own, Bobby Flaherty, a true “kid of the 80’s”. When Life Stops… Love Doesn’t.”

Today’s Collision is a proud sponsor of The Greg Hill Foundation.

Today’s Collision is a proud sponsor of The Greg Hill Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of local families touched by tragedy. This week, we joined Greg Hill and local Celebrities for the 20th Annual WAAF Golf Tournament Charity Event at the MGM Grand in Foxwoods. This well-attended, two-day event brought together local businesses and celebrities for a good cause. Attendees at the Pool Party were greeted by Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Jason Varitek, Shawn Thornton, Jim Corsi and comedian Lenny Clarke. Both the silent and live auctions featured coveted sports memorabilia and “once-in-a-lifetime” sports excursions including hanging courtside at a Celtics game with Boston Bruin Tyler Seguin. The after-party moved all the celebrities and guests to Shrine at MGM Grand.

We had the pleasure of having local comedian, Lenny Clarke, join our Golf Tournament Foursome (consisting of team members from Today’s Collision and Enterprise). Can you picture 18 holes with Lenny Clarke? Lots of Laughs! Our team didn’t win top prize, but we were in the running!

A Celebrity Longest Drive competition brought out the comedian in everyone. Rob Gronkowski and two of his brothers (Chris and Gordie) have set the new trend in golf attire. (Check out our photos on facebook.) Rob also seems to be trademarking the “running drive”. Why stand still when you can run up to the ball to hit it? Joining the above listed celebrities were Stephen Goskowski, Zoltan Mesko, Dan Aiken, Jay Miller, Dan Paille, Bob Sweeney and Mike Mottau. Following the Tournament, all attendees joined the celebrities for a dinner and awards ceremony at Alta Strada at MGM Grand with a performance by Brian Richard.
